Ian Jackman, managing consultant, strategist, innovator, Bright Earth Consulting Managing Consultant and founder of Bright Earth Consulting, Ian Jackman, has a wide range of business experience, leadership, innovation and creative problem solving skills across a broad range of industries.

Armed with a BSc degree in Industrial Chemistry from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, Ian began his career in the process industries, and then moved into research, development and formulation of speciality industrial chemicals. At that stage, he realised that the clear focus and direction that is essential for success could only come from being directly involved at the customer / operations interface.

For more than 20 years Ian has effectively developed his strategy, marketing and innovation consultancy skills in a unique blend with technical expertise and independent thought. Regional experience includes Southern Africa, Europe, Middle East and United Kingdom.

His experience has been gained in food, mineral, energy and water resources, environmental services, formulation chemistry, manufacturing and process industry sectors, as well as business support services, applications engineering, and international distribution management.

Since 1978, Ian has helped managers and organizations to improve productivity and performance through strategic problem solving, management support and coaching - with companies such as Tate & Lyle, Anglo American, SOEKOR, BHP Billiton (General Mining), AngloVaal, Boart Longyear, RUC Unidrilling/Murray & Roberts, Guardian National, Mittal Steel (ISCOR), Eurofins, industry associations, NGO’s and government departments … and many others.

Ian connects well at all levels in the organisation - from the workplace to the board room. His commitment to service, reliability, optimism, sense of humour and enthusiasm are great assets as he applies his insight and experience to successfully energise and improve businesses through consulting interventions and interim management assignments.
